Soft Multifocal Lenses are being increasing used in children to control myopia although were originally intended for older adults who struggling with reading. These lenses have circular zones of changing power starting with full distance correction in the center and a stronger plus power incorporated into the mid and peripheral areas of the lens. These lenses are found to be comfortable and usually well tolerated although some can find near work slightly blurred.
